Boiler Installations in Gloucestershire
A new boiler is one of those jobs you only want to do once. Get it right and it’s quiet, efficient and forgotten about for ten or twelve years. Get it wrong and you’ll know about it every January.
Priority One Plumbing has been installing boilers across Gloucestershire for over twenty years from our base in Churchdown. We’re Gas Safe registered, City & Guilds qualified, OFTEC accredited for oil work and Worcester Bosch and Vaillant accredited installers. Every job gets a proper survey and a fixed written quote, no phone-quote guesswork.
Combi, System or Regular: Choosing the Right Type
The type matters more than the brand. The brand decides reliability and guarantee length; the type decides whether the system suits how your house actually uses hot water.
- Combi: heats water on demand, no cylinder. Best for one and two bathroom homes. The catch is flow rate when two outlets run at once.
- System: runs alongside an unvented cylinder (Megaflo or similar). Mains-pressure hot water at every outlet; suits three or more bathrooms and busy households.
- Regular (heat-only): the older setup with a cylinder and loft tank. Still the right answer for some large period houses where mains pressure can’t keep up.
We install Worcester Bosch most often, as accredited installers we register the extended manufacturer guarantee, up to twelve years on the Greenstar range, alongside Vaillant ecoTEC, Ideal Logic Max, Baxi and Viessmann. We quote whatever genuinely fits your house, not what tops a price list.

What an Installation Involves & What It Costs
Most jobs are a straight swap (one to two days), an upgrade with a new cylinder, smart controls or a relocation (two to three days), or a conversion from an open-vent system to a sealed combi or system setup (two to four days). Every install includes a system clean, power flush or chemical clean, and a magnetic filter, because new condensing boilers are sensitive to old sludge and skipping the clean voids the manufacturer guarantee. We include weather compensation and OpenTherm-compatible smart controls where the boiler supports them, and we notify the install to Gas Safe (or OFTEC on oil) under Building Regulations so the certificate reaches you automatically.
- Combi straight swap: £2,200 to £2,800.
- Combi with new flue, controls and magnetic filter: £2,800 to £3,400.
- System boiler with new unvented cylinder: £3,800 to £5,500.
- Regular to combi conversion: £3,500 to £4,800.
- Oil boiler like-for-like swap: £3,500 to £4,800.
- Move the boiler to a new location: add £400 to £900.

Thinking Beyond Gas?

Why Gloucestershire Homeowners Choose Priority One Plumbing
We’re a local firm, not a national installer. Every installation includes:
- A proper survey before any quote, not a price over the phone.
- A fixed price in writing: boiler model, controls, flue, filter, flushing method and warranty length all spelled out.
- Engineers who arrive on time, dust sheets down, boots off, plain English.
- Aftercare, we service what we fit and remind you when the annual service is due, keeping the guarantee valid.
